Mr. Mallikarjun Chandrappa

  • Mr Chandrappa obtained his FRCS in 2014.  He undertook Fellowships in Spinal Surgery at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh, Great Ormond street Hospital and University Hospital for Wales, Cardiff.  He was appointed as Consultant Spine surgeon in Trauma and Orthopaedics at RVI, Newcastle from May 2020.  He has published in international journals.

    Mr Chandrappa specialises in treating patients with neck and back problems in children and adults with a special interest in deformities (scoliosis).

    Mr. Chandrappa provides independent expert orthopaedic assessments and specialist spinal reports for personal injury medicolegal cases.

Mr Shankar Kashyap

  • Dr Shankar Kashyap qualified in medicine with an MBBS from Bangalore and moved to the UK in 1982. He obtained the FRCS from Edinburgh and Glasgow and completed higher orthopaedic training in the North East of England and Liverpool, gaining a Master of Surgery degree in Orthopaedics (MCh Orth) in 1989.

    He was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead, following a brief period at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle. From 2003, he served as Clinical Director of Trauma and Orthopaedics for five years. During this time, he introduced several service innovations, including minimally invasive techniques for knee replacement surgery, the establishment of the Gateshead Arthroplasty Register ahead of the National Arthroplasty Register, and the development of the Rapid Recovery Programme for joint replacements - the first of its kind in the UK.

    Dr Kashyap retired from clinical practice in 2017 and now works exclusively in medicolegal practice, providing independent expert reports in personal injury cases.
